4. Band: 8th thru 12th Grade

“Vocal” is defined as a single student playing an instrument or accompanied by a CD.
“Band” is defined as two or more students performing with or without instruments.

AUDITIONS

Saturday, April 7 – 11am to 1pm

Monday, April 9 – 3:30pm to 5:30pm

This competition is open to any current Hawaii student in Grades K-12

LOCATION:  ‘Iolani School, Castle Building, Band Room

RULES:

• Performance Time Limits: Vocalists 3 minutes, Bands 4 minutes.
• All contestants must perform the same song, with the same instrumentation as the original audition. No exceptions will be made. Changes to the song selection or instrumentation will constitute grounds for disqualification.
• ‘Iolani School will supply a CD player, drum set, bass amplifier, guitar amplifiers, digital keyboard and microphones.
• CDs must contain ONE track (no MP3). CD must be labeled with the CONTESTANT’S NAME and SONG TITLE and will be returned immediately
  following each competition.
• Contestants must be present at least 30 minutes before
  start of respective competition. Late arrivals will be
  automatically disqualified.
• Contestants will be notified via email, upon
  being selected to compete on April 10.
• By auditioning, contestants agree to abide
  by rules of the competition.
